Facing History Toronto is delighted to announce we have been able to add 3 'Bully' Film Educator Kits to our resource library*.

Each Kit includes the full length film on DVD (99 min.), an edited version of the film for younger audiences (47 min.), our guide to the Film 'BULLY: Fostering Empathy and Action in Schools', 'Not in Our Schools' videos, other educational materials, and a hard copy of the guide to the film.
BULLY is a character-driven documentary following five kids and families over the course of a school year. Offering insight into different facets of America's bullying crisis, the stories include two families who have lost children to suicide and a mother awaiting the fate of her 14-year-old daughter, who has been incarcerated after bringing a gun on her school bus. The documentary provides an intimate and often shocking glimpse into homes, classrooms, cafeterias and principals' offices.
Using the film BULLY

How do we bring difficult content into the classroom? For over 37 years, Facing History and Ourselves has worked with educators to bring difficult conversations about stereotyping, persecution and violence into the classroom in ways that deepen students' empathy, compassion and knowledge - and inspire students to think critically, ethically, and stand up against injustice. If you would like to work with us to bring this film or other case studies to your school, please contact us to meet with your planning team.

To access ways in which we have approached this film with educators, visit our free online self-paced workshop, or check out the sequence and strategies we used in our live workshop in Toronto. If you have brought this film to your school already, we would love to hear what you did! Leave a comment below.

*NOTE: Our Library Resources are available to educators who have completed a qualifying workshop or seminar with Facing History. For more information on how you can take part in one, please visit our website.
